Trip Details

Police Museum & Aotea Lagoon

During this trip, each group will be split into two. While one half visits the New Zealand Police Museum, the other half will enjoy playtime and lunch at Aotea Lagoon, before swapping midway through the day.
At the museum, ākonga will explore the fascinating world of forensics, discovering how fingerprints are formed, what makes them unique, and how they help police solve crimes.

Timetable for the day:

  • Monday: Bus departs at 9:45am

  • Tuesday: Bus departs at 9:00am

Students will eat morning tea and lunch at either the Police Museum or Aotea Lagoon.  We expect to return to school by 2:00pm.
We are looking for a few parent volunteers to join us on these trips. If you are available, please contact Amaria at amaria@amesbury.school.nz.

Johnsonville Memorial Park & Waitohi Library

At Johnsonville Memorial Park, students will enjoy lunch and playtime before heading next door to the Waitohi Library. There, ākonga will take part in Storytime and the Summer Reading Programme.

Timetable for the day:

  • Bus departs at 12:10pm

  • Depart at 2:50pm to return to school by 3:10pm

We are also seeking parent volunteers for these trips. Please contact amaria@amesbury.school.nz if you can help.

Approximate Cost

We are finalising costs for the trips and expect this to be no more than $22 per student.

We are really looking forward to a fun and engaging week of learning, exploring, and celebrating with our ākonga. These experiences are a wonderful way to finish off the school year together, and we can’t wait to share in the excitement with them!
