Senior Athletics at Amesbury - Tuesday
The weather prevented the scheduled Pōhutukawa athletics day this week so Brydon has devised a Plan B!
Our Year 4-6 ākonga (students) will now be participating in the senior athletics meet this Tuesday (20 October) at school, commencing around 9.15am.
Please send your tamariki with plenty of food, drink and appropriate clothing for a long day in variable weather conditions.
We encourage whānau to also come along and offer their support. Of course, if you are coming Brydon can also use your assistance in running the events. If you are able to, can you please contact Brydon.
Parental Consent Needed for Google Apps Access
If you haven't already done so please complete the consent form for tamariki (children) to use the Additional Services provided within Google Workspace (such as YouTube, Google Earth, or Google Maps).

Amesbury Cultural Festival
The Annual Amesbury Cultural Festival is set to take place at 4-6pm on Friday 13 November 2026.
As always, food is one of the main focuses of the event. We already have some dishes confirmed:
chicken biryani - Sponsored by Vik Singh, The Mortgage Company
chickpea curry and rice
the Ground Up team will be serving our Kiwiana sausage sizzle
We are looking for more contributions and this is where you come in. Cook a dish from your culture to share. We already have delicious dishes coming from Palestine, South Africa and Italy, and we can’t wait to share them with everyone. The plan is to serve the food as tasters so even one plate will go a long way.
Apart from food, we are wanting entertainment and traditions from the many and varied cultures in our school community.
If you want/are able to contribute to the richness of the day please contact Kirat and let her know what you would like to do to make the festival an exciting event and a time to remember.
Scholastic Book Fair
It's nearly time for our annual Scholastic Book Fair - due to take place from Wednesday 11 to Tuesday 17 November.
At this stage Kirat is looking for volunteers to help run the shop before and after school. Please read all the details here and contact Kirat if you can help out.
Ice Cream Containers Needed
We are looking for ice cream containers, ideally with lids, please. They will be used in our Manaakitanga mural project in a couple of weeks' time. (A good excuse to eat ice cream!). Please drop them off at the office.
Sun Safety Reminders!
SUNHATS: All students must have an Amesbury sunhat to be able to play outside during break time, so dig into those drawers and wardrobes, dust them off, or buy a new one on Kindo - available in size Small through to Extra Large.
SUNSCREEN: Morning application: Please put sunscreen on your child at home before they leave so it has time to absorb. We have a school supply for extra sunscreen during the day.
Get ready for an exciting week at Kelly Club Amesbury as we explore Europe through fun activities, games, and delicious treats! Our tamariki will enjoy:
creating colourful pointillism paintings
racing chariots
discovering the Leaning Tower of Pisa, an
taking on a multi-sport challenge.
To finish the week, we’ll be heading into the kitchen to make yummy chocolate croissants!
Along the way, we’ll enjoy plenty of team games, creative activities, and adventures together. We can’t wait for another fantastic week at Kelly Club with our European Adventure!
