School Board Parent Elections
Nominations for parent representatives on our school board have now closed. We received seven nominations for the five positions available, so we will now go to a vote.
My School Election will be in contact with all voters to let you know the process to follow when casting your electronic vote (election day is Wednesday 17th September). In the meantime, Gail sent out a HERO post - on 14 August - with the names of the candidates together with their profiles for your advance consideration.
Including Year 7 and 8 at Amesbury School
In her Editorial this week Urs has included thought on applying to the Ministry of Education to extend Amesbury School to include Years 7&8.
Please read through Urs's comments and take a few moments to complete this form on your thoughts - for and against. This is not a commitment for you to keep your tamariki at Amesbury, simply whether you think that having another choice for Years 7-8 is something you support.
Consultation Session
Another matter that Urs has covered in her Editorial is Consultation Session from 5-6pm on Thursday 11 September. The purpose of the session is to discuss with the School Board and Leadership Team your thoughts on a new strategic plan which is due this year, mapping out goals and focus areas over the next three years.
If you are planning to come along, please fill in this very quick form, to give an idea of numbers (helps for the pizza order!).
Sausage Sizzle
We are holding a sausage sizzle at lunchtime on Friday 29 August.
This is a fundraising event for cover the cost of the tutors from Inano Dance who are presenting our Pasifika Dance programme to our tamariki every Monday. We are especially thankful to Ground Up Homes, a local building company, which is kindly sponsoring this fundraiser for us.
Sausages are $2 each and orders can be made via our school Kindo Shop no later than 2pm on Thursday 28 August. A small number of sausages may be available for cash on the day.
