It is time again for our school to confirm permission from whānau (family) for tamariki (children) to use the Additional Services provided within Google Workspace (such as YouTube, Google Earth, or Google Maps).

Amesbury Cultural Festival
The Annual Amesbury Cultural Festival is set to take place at 4-6pm on Friday 13 November 2026.
As always, food is one of the main focuses of the event. We already have some dishes confirmed:
chicken biryani - Sponsored by Vik Singh, The Mortgage Company
chickpea curry and rice
the Ground Up team will be serving our Kiwiana sausage sizzle
We are looking for more contributions and this is where you come in. Cook a dish from your culture to share. The plan is to serve the food as tasters so even one plate will go a long way.
Apart from food, we are wanting entertainment and traditions from the many and varied cultures in our school community.
If you want/are able to contribute to the richness of the day please contact Kirat and let her know what you would like to do to make the festival an exciting event and a time to remember
Senior Athletics Day - Volunteer helpers Needed Urgently
Our Year 4-6 tamariki are off to Newtown Park on Thursday 15 October (the first week of Term 4) for our Senior School Athletics.
There is a wide range of events covering running, jumping and throwing.
Whānau are invited along to watch & support and, if you want a close up view, we need you to volunteer to help run the events. Please contact Brydon.

Co-curricular Lessons in Term 4
Our co-curricular lessons are proving more and more popular, especially with the addition of both Cricket & Chess this year. But there is so much more.
Sign up for any co-curricular classes from the range offered - no experience needed. We may even be able to provide individual lessons in additional instruments - please ask John. With classes commencing in Week 1, now is a perfect time to do so.

Sport Updates
Regional Cross Country
Annabel was our sole representative at the Inter Regional Cross Country in Nelson this week. She did herself, her whānau, her team and Amesbury proud in finishing 6th in the Year 6 girls race and helped her Wellington team to claim the silver medal - pipped by winners Canterbury by 1 point.
NZ School Chess Champs
The team of Andy, Kishore, Hanson, and Nilan are off to Auckland this weekend to represent Amesbury at the NZ Schools Chess Championships. Having won the Wellington Championships, they qualified for the national event. We wish them well.
World Chess Champs
When he has finished representing Amesbury at the NZ Champs, Nilan is off to Spain to represent New Zealand at the World Chess Championships in the Under 7 grade. This is an amazing, but totally deserved, opportunity for Nilan and we look forward to updating you with his experience.
Summer Series Netball Team
Craig, one of our school parents, is looking to enter a Year 3/4 team into the Summer Series Netball commencing next term. He needs at least 10 players (or more) to form the team. The games will be played on Mondays in Porirua.
