Why are we having it? This is an opportunity to assist the Wellington Free Ambulance who look after us, our loved ones, our friends, and everyone else in our Wellington community every day of the year.
How can we help? By donating on our Wellington Free Ambulance school fundraising page here. We have set a relatively modest target of $500 from our school community.
So come along to school on Friday 12 September in your onesie or oodie and make a small donation to the Wellington Free Ambulance.

A Big Thank You to Two Former Students
Two of our former students Josh C & Rachit, along with their friend Luka ran a sausage sizzle at Churton Park New World and, with the funds raised, they purchased and provided some sports gear to Amesbury.
This was their Year 10 Community Project and we really appreciate that they thought of Amesbury to contribute to. Thanks boys!
Contact information
If you have recently changed contact details, address or would like to update the emergency contacts you have listed, please email Rachel: office@amesbury.school.nz. Only people listed in Hero will be permitted to collect students in the event of an emergency evacuation situation if you can't get here.
Absence/Away
For 5 or more days away from school due to holiday or travel during term time, parents are required to contact Urs/the Principal in writing and cc the office. For planned trips, this should be well in advance of the holiday/time away from school. The Ministry of Education does not grant leave from school for holidays/visiting family and as such are tagged as an unjustified absence.
Absence/Medical
If a student is unwell and absent from school for 5 consecutive days due to medical reasons, we ask for a medical certificate from a health professional be provided (including the date seen, confirming the days unfit for school and estimated return date)
Advising of contagious illnesses
When informing the school office of an absence due to a student being unwell, please include additional information for conditions that are highly contagious. This helps to track any trends, advise our school community to be on the lookout, and ensures immediate notification to the parents of students who have lowered immune systems due to the treatment of serious medical conditions. In particular, Chicken Pox and Measles can have serious implications, so the sooner families are informed of infectious exposure, the sooner any appropriate treatment can be given to prevent potentially serious complications. Please read the linked information regarding infectious conditions, and common rashes and skin infections.
