Amesbury Cultural Festival

The Annual Amesbury Cultural Festival is set to take place at 4-6pm on Friday 13 November 2026.

As always, food is one of the main focuses of the event. We already have some dishes confirmed:

  • vegetable biryani - Sponsored by Vik Singh, The Mortgage Company

  • chickpea curry and rice

  • the Ground Up team will be serving our Kiwiana sausage sizzle

We are looking for more contributions and this is where you come in. Cook a dish from your culture to share. We already have delicious dishes coming from Palestine, South Africa and Italy, and we can’t wait to share them with everyone. The plan is to serve the food as tasters so even one plate will go a long way.

Apart from food, we are wanting entertainment and traditions from the many and varied cultures in our school community.

If you want/are able to contribute to the richness of the day please contact Kirat and let her know what you would like to do to make the festival an exciting event and a time to remember.

Scholastic Book Fair

It's nearly time for our annual Scholastic Book Fair - due to take place from Wednesday 11 to Tuesday 17 November.

At this stage Kirat is looking for volunteers to help run the shop before and after school. Please read all the details here and contact Kirat if you can help out.

Senior Athletics 2026

After our planned senior athletics day at Newtown Park was rained off last week and the venue couldn't be rebooked, Brydon went to Plan B which was to hold the competition at Amesbury this week.

Plan B was successful and tamariki enjoyed the day, putting in some excellent performances.

A team has now been selected to compete at the Northern Zone Athletics on Monday 2 November. All parents of those involved will be specifically notified.

Here is Brydon's quick review of the day.

Share & Celebrate

What a great start to the long weekend with our latest Share & Celebrate. Apart from the amazing performances of those tamariki representing Amesbury in different activities around New Zealand, there were a number of other special deeds recognised.
