You should all have received this Term 4 Whānau Information from your tamariki's whānau teacher.

Please take the time to read through it.

Parental Consent Needed for Google Apps Access

It is time again for our school to confirm permission from whānau (family) for tamariki (children) to use the Additional Services provided within Google Workspace (such as YouTube, Google Earth, or Google Maps).

Please read the information here and complete this form.

School Camps (EOTC)

Our EOTC week will be in Week 8 of Term 4.

Please note: Year 5-6 camp payment must be made in full by Monday (12 October) if you wish your tamaiti to attend.

There are various trips and activities planned. Below is the information for both the Year 0-2 & Year 3-4 EOTC activities. Please read through the applicable articles and, where appropriate, complete the form(s) included:

Sausage Sizzle Lunch Fundraiser

Monday 19 October is the date set for a lunchtime sausage sizzle to raise funds for the Year 5-6 Camp to be held later this term. We are close to our fundraising target to significantly reduce the cost for attendees.

It's a win-win! Tamariki get to enjoy a treat for their lunch and the cost of the Year 5-6 Camp is reduced.

Read all the info here and Pre-order your sausage/s via Kindo. Orders close at 5pm on Friday (16 October).

Amesbury Cultural Festival

The Annual Amesbury Cultural Festival is set to take place at 4-6pm on Friday 13 November 2026.

As always, food is one of the main focuses of the event. We already have some dishes confirmed:

  • chicken biryani - Sponsored by Vik Singh, The Mortgage Company

  • chickpea curry and rice

  • the Ground Up team will be serving our Kiwiana sausage sizzle

We are looking for more contributions and this is where you come in. Cook a dish from your culture to share. The plan is to serve the food as tasters so even one plate will go a long way.

Apart from food, we are wanting entertainment and traditions from the many and varied cultures in our school community.

If you want/are able to contribute to the richness of the day please contact Kirat and let her know what you would like to do to make the festival an exciting event and a time to remember.

Co-curricular Classes in Term 4

If your tamariki are interested in taking one or more co-curricular lessons for Term 4 please sign up without delay as lessons begin this week for the term. Spaces are still available in all lessons, although some spaces are limited. Please note that, due to long term sick leave, we are unable to offer Violin in Term 4

We have a wide range of activities which cater for all levels - Years 1-6 and beginner to accomplished.

Sign up for any co-curricular classes from the range offered - no experience needed. We may even be able to provide individual lessons in additional instruments - please ask John. With classes commencing in Week 1, now is a perfect time to do so.

Read all about our co-curricular classes here, and contact John to sign up and with any questions that you may have.

Senior Athletics at Newtown Park - Thursday

Our Year 4-6 ākonga (students) will be participating in the senior athletics meet this Thursday (15 October) commencing around 10am.

Please send your tamariki with plenty of food, drink and appropriate clothing for a long day in variable weather conditions.

We encourage whānau to also come along and offer their support. Of course, if you are coming Brydon can also use your assistance in running the events. If you are able to, can you please contact Brydon.

Touch Rugby - Term 4 - Registrations close Monday

Touch Rugby is on again in Term 4 and we are looking for registrations - both girls & boys - in all grades. See here for all the details.

The focus is on fundamentals, participation and fun.

As always, we need a coach with each team, so if you are available, please include your information in the registration form.

If your child(ren) is/are interested please register here. Registrations will close at 4pm on Monday (12 October).

Summer Series Netball for Year 3&4

Does your child love Netball and wish the season hadn't ended? Or they want to give it a go? This is the opportunity for your tamariki.

One of our lovely parents, Craig Leher, is looking to put together a Year 3&4 netball team to participate in the Junior Summer Series Netball league at Kapi Mana Netball Courts. Games are on Mondays from 3.50 pm.

If your child is keen to participate or you would like to find out more information, please reach out to Craig via email: craigleher@yahoo.com.

Can you help Te Rito?

Te Rito would love:

  • another dolls house if someone has one laying around

  • some small dolls (not barbie dolls), and

  • kitchen utensils for the kitchen play area in Te Rito.

Sun Safety Reminders!

SUNHATS: All students must have an Amesbury sunhat to be able to play outside during break time, so dig into those drawers and wardrobes, dust them off, or buy a new one on Kindo - available in size Small through to Extra Large.

SUNSCREEN: Morning application: Please put sunscreen on your child at home before they leave so it has time to absorb. We have a school supply for extra sunscreen during the day.
