While the tamariki are enjoying themselves - whānau are also invited to come along to spectate and encourage.

Years 3 to 6 trip to Wellington Museum and Matiu Somes Island

All of our Year 3-6 ākonga will be traveling to the Wellington Museum and Matiu Somes Island next month.

Rupert's notification article advises which of the four days your tamariki will be participating and other relevant information.

Importantly, we need parent help on each of those days to ensure a safe and fulfilling day for all of the tamariki. If you can assist, can Year 3 parents advise Amaria (amaria.picard@amesbury.school.nz) and Year 4-6 parent please email Rupert (rupert@amesbury.school.nz).

Term 2 Disco

The term 2 Disco will be held in the school hall on Friday 13 June.

Things to do before then:

For more details, including times, please read Kirat's article.

Knowing if your child is well enough to go to school

Going to school every day is important for all tamariki. However, the following information helps you decide when it is okay to send your child to school, when you should keep your child at home and when you should contact a health professional for advice.

Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora has produced this guidance to assist parent decision making.

Amesbury’s Got Talent 2025

Junior Invitational Cross Country

Earlier this week we held the annual Junior Invitational Cross Country (Y0-3) where we had 12 other local schools attend and compete against our own tamariki.

What an amazing morning it was with over 350 runners participating with huge whānau support, and to top it off a sausage sizzle to reinvigorate everyone involved.

Our special thanks to the runners, the older ākonga (students) who ran with them, the supportive whānau, the sausgae sizzle helpers, and to Lily for her organisation of the whole event.

For more specific details of the day please read here.

Clothing backup - for ALL STUDENTS please

With winter here, so is the rain, puddles and mud.  Please pack a spare set of shorts/track pants/leggings, and underpants in the school bag (for all ages and sizes) with a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in, and let your child know that they are there for them to get changed into.  For some children it can be embarrassing or upsetting when they unexpectedly become wet or dirty (particularly if there isn't anything for them to change into) or they don't like what is available.  We do not hold many spare clothes so are not able to cater for all 'requests' and sizes (particularly over size 8).

Contact information

Please help us keep student, caregiver and emergency contact information up to date.  If you have recently changed address or contact number, or would like to update emergency contacts, dietary or medical information please email office@amesbury.school.nz.

Kelly Club

This coming week's theme is Staff Choice. We will be:

  • making a delicious Wheet-bix slice

  • competing in an exciting obstacle course

  • creating our own board games which we will all get to play; and

  • having some fun outside playing football.

We are so excited to see you there!
