This is a fun and relaxed event and is open for all ākonga (students) to enter with any talent they want to share. We will be holding the heats in Weeks 5 & 6 (18th - 29th of May) during lunchtime in front of an audience and judges. The finals will be on Friday of week 8 (12th of June).
Children can sign up with this link. Sign-ups will close on the 11th of May. We will share the specific heat dates once the schedule has been confirmed.
Important Information for Performers:
Students are responsible for bringing any equipment or props they need for their performance.
Music should be school-appropriate (including lyrics and themes of songs). Music must be pre-checked by an adult before registering. If the school decides the music is not appropriate for school and school-aged children, we will ask you to change the song at any time. Music can be brought in on a PA-compatible device or shared via a YouTube link.
A keyboard, piano, and PA/speaker system will be available to use.
A list of criteria will be used to help judges make decisions for the finalists. Performances tailored for a wider audience, not just the judges' viewing (e.g. a card trick) will be considered for this. Such talents can still be performed in the heats.
We look forward to seeing the amazing talent at Amesbury School. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at hannah@amesbury.school.nz
