New World Club+ in Schools Fundraising
With New World moving to the New World Club+ card, we would ask all those who are currently signed up to the soon to be replaced card as well as new supporters to complete this Form which will result in 1% of the total spend of all linked Club+ cards to be donated to Amesbury School.
To make it even easier, we have some forms already printed and available in the office. When you are next in school simply grab one, fill it in, and hand it in.
It costs you nothing - other than the time to complete the form - and ensures that Amesbury receives ongoing fundraising to provide equipment for the benefit of our tamariki.
To read further details on the opportunity and to see a list of what we have purchased so far, please read all about it here.

Amesbury Kapa Haka Performance Group
Every year Amesbury sends a performance group along to the St. Brigid’s Kapa Haka Festival. This year it will be held on Saturday 19 September at Newlands College.
With it being a non-competitive festival we invite all interested tamariki to participate from any year level. Participants are asked to complete this form and in Term 3 our Kapa Haka Tutor, Hemi Prime, will work with them during school time to prepare.
More details about the festival can be found here. Please read and sign up.
Amesbury School is partnering with Downtown Community Ministry
Downtown Community Ministry's (DCM) motto is “Together we can end homelessness” and to do this they partner with the Wellington Community to provide for the practical needs to achieve this objective.
This where the Amesbury whānau can be of assistance. We have a collection point in the school's reception area for you to drop off non-perishable items. A small contribution by a number quickly becomes a large quantity. A suggested list is included in Urs's article together with more information about DCM. Please add an item to your weekly shop to help our vulnerable neighbours. A sincere thanks in advance.
Share & Celebrate
An exciting end to a very short week with the latest Share & Celebrate.
It is so easy to focus on the things where tamariki won this or that - and that is wonderful and deserving of recognition. Equally, it is great to be able to focus on the little things that have been done - without intended recognition: that little act of kindness or helpfulness. We thank and celebrate our ākonga for the many times that they perform these acts.
Read all about it here.
This coming week our theme is Football Fun. We will be:
making football rice krispy treats
making our own football trophies
playing a classic game of football as well as different versions; and
making our own cardboard foosball.
We cannot wait to see you all there!
Have a great weekend.
