Grandparents and Whānau Sharing Time - Tuesday
Our learning celebration this term is focused on a sharing our school and our learning with grandparents and whānau. You are all most welcome to come along and see our learning in action.
The main proceedings start at 11.30am in the Hall, however, for those who wish, come along anytime from 11am, join us for a cup of tea or coffee. During the sharing time you can expect some performances from our tamariki followed by guided tours of our learning spaces, with a wrap up by 12.50pm
Pōhutukawa Swimming Lessons - Term 3 - Registrations close Monday
Swimming lessons for Pōhutukawa (Years 4, 5 & 6) will be taking place on Thursdays next term.
To help us get an accurate number of students attending, please complete this form by 4pm on Monday 16 June.

Year 5 and 6 Mathswell Maths Competition - entries close Monday
We looking for a team of 6 ākonga (students) to represent Amesbury at the Mathswell Maths Competition in August.
As we are limited to one team of six, we have set out criteria for selection in the event we have more interest than spaces.
Please read through the Mathswell article and if you are interested please email Urs (urs@amesbury.school.nz) with the information requested. The deadline for entries is 3pm on Monday 16 June.
Miniball Term 3 - Registrations close Monday
Registrations are now open if your tamariki wish to play miniball in Term 3. If you did not play in the current term please use this form. Others will have received an email from Amelia with a separate link.

ICAS Exams 2025 - Parent Meetings Wednesday & Thursday
ICAS are on again this year and will be facilitated by Amesbury for any of our interested Year 3-6 tamariki. Read here for all of the information you need to take part.

For those who have not participated in ICAS exams at Amesbury previously parents are required to attend a short meeting held in Pōhutukawa on either Wednesday 18 or Thursday 19 June @ 4pm-4:30pm
Complete an ICAS Registration Form for each child no later than Tuesday 15 July
Make payment for the exam prior to sitting the exam
Charlotte’s & Gar Kee’s whānau trip to Wellington Museum - Thursday
Our final groups - Charlotte’s & Gar Kee’s whānau - will be traveling to the Wellington Museum on Thursday (19 June).
Please note that the Matiu Somes Island component has been postponed until Term 4 when all Year 3 to 6s will have the opportunity to travel there.

On the day of their trip, tamariki need to be at school no later than 8.40am.

Food and Drink at School
Just a reminder around food & drink for brain breaks, birthdays, sharing food and lunches.
Please be mindful that these are in place primarily for the wellbeing of each and every one of our tamariki. Please read the details here.
Koru Swimming Carnival
The Years 0-3 swimming carnival will be held at Tawa Pool on Tuesday 22nd July - that's Week 2 in Term 3.
In the meantime can you please complete this registration form (one per child) no later than 27th June.
As usual, for our off site events, we are seeking parent support for our ākonga to ensure their safety in the pool. If you are able to help please email Lily lily@amesbury.school.nz.
Of course, we also encourage whānau to come along and support theirs and all the tamariki.

Inter Zone Cross Country
The Inter Zone Cross Country was held earlier this week at Macalister Park in Berhampore. Amesbury was represented by Bailey, Annabel, Luca, Ethan, John & Basti who had qualified after competing at the Northern Zones last month.
These amazing ākonga competed against the best runners in Wellington and they should be super proud of themselves. We certainly are.
A special congratulations to Annabel who placed 5th in her race, meaning she will move through to Regionals later this month.
Uniform
Please help us reunite lost uniform items before the end of the term by checking that fleeces and hoodies at home have your child's name in them and not someone else's - any mistakenly worn home can be brought to the office so they can be returned directly to their owner.
Capital Basketball Matariki Festival
If you are interested in basketball, Capital Basketball are running a Matariki Basketball Festival.
Please note that this is not school organised so a parent will need to run/organise this if tamariki are interested.
