🎨 Our first trip: Te Whare Toi - Wellington City Gallery
On Monday 30 November or Tuesday 1 December, our ākonga will split into two groups, each visiting different places in the city on one of these days. One rōpū/group will start in Te Whare Toi – Wellington City Gallery, where ākonga will take part in a guided tour before getting creative themselves in an art workshop. The other rōpū will visit the Wellington City Library and Frank Kitts Park. The groups will then swap, allowing everyone to experience both the Art Gallery, library & park.
💦 Our second trip: Cannons Creek Pool
On Wednesday 2 December, we are heading to Cannons Creek Pool, where we have hired the pool exclusively for our group! The ākonga will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water and have fun with the inflatable equipment.
🧗 Our third trip: Clip n Climb & Jumperama
On Thursday 2 December, we will move between two activities.
While one rōpū is at Clip n Climb, the other rōpū will be on the trampolines. The groups will then swap, allowing everyone to experience both the clip n climb and the trampolines.

🌙 An optional school sleepover
For those ākonga who would like to, there will be an optional opportunity to stay overnight at kura/school in Pōhutukawa Hub on Thursday night (2nd December). After our day out, the ākonga will head home as usual after kura and then return to kura at around 5.00pm. They will have time to settle in, have dinner and play some games together before getting ready for bed. All meals will be provided for those who choose to stay, including dinner on Thursday, breakfast on Friday, morning tea and lunch on Friday.
The sleepover is completely optional. We know that some ākonga will be very excited about the opportunity to spend a night at kura with their friends, while others may prefer to head home at the end of the day. Either choice is absolutely fine.

We are still confirming costs for the day trips, but we expect it to be no more than $60 per ākonga for all three days, which covers the entry and bus costs for each trip. An additional $10 will be added to your account for those wanting to stay overnight at school. This cost covers their evening meal on Thursday, and breakfast, morning tea and lunch on Friday. Fundraising from our Term 3 disco has helped us to keep these costs as low as possible.
