Online Safety Presentation
John Parsons, a leading authority on online safety in Aotearoa New Zealand, will be presenting - on Thursday 3 September - an evening session for whānau to which you are invited.
Spaces are extremely limited as the session is open to our entire Tarikākā cluster. Please read the information article and, if you are interested, quickly secure a spot as Amesbury has only 30 guaranteed places.
School Photos - Orders Close Monday
Earlier today we sent out a HERO notification advising that the school photos were now available for ordering. That post provides all of the links needed to view and order the photos.
Please note that the fundraising period for this gallery will finish at midnight on Monday 10 August and orders placed and paid for by this date aim to be dropped off at school by the end of August.
Pōhutukawa Swimming Carnival
The Pōhutukawa swimming carnival is scheduled for Monday 17 August at the Tawa pool.
Please read through Brydon's information and have a chat with your tamariki about what events they may wish to participate in.

Futsal Festival - Registrations Close Today (7 August)
The Northern Zone Futsal Festival is being held on 8 September and Amesbury has secured spots for four teams. If your tamariki wish to play please register them Friday 7 August. It's extremely popular so places are not guaranteed.

Ripper Rugby - Registrations Open
If your Year5/6 tamariki are interested in Ripper Rugby there is a tournament on Thursday 3 September at Nairnville Park where Amesbury, depending on interest, will enter up to two teams.

Winter Wellness
Please follow this link to the Health New Zealand Winter Wellness tips and information sheet to support tamariki, whānau, and staff to stay healthy throughout the winter season.
Small actions such as staying home when unwell, good hand hygiene, and keeping vaccinations up to date can make a significant difference in reducing the spread of winter illnesses.
Absence/Medical
If a student is unwell and absent from school for 5 consecutive days due to medical reasons, we ask for a medical certificate from a health professional (including the date seen, confirming the days unfit for school and estimated return date)For colds, flu and rsv, students are able to return to school when they have no fever for 24 hours, no need for medicine to reduce fever for 24 hours and no or only mild symptoms (i.e. mild cough, headache, runny/blocked nose).
Absence/Away
4 or more days away from school due to holiday or travel during term time, parents are to email Urs/the Principal. For planned trips, this should be well in advance of the holiday/time away from school.

Uniform
Lower half clothing and long sleeved tops worn under polos must be plain black and only an Amesbury fleece or Amesbury hoodie can be worn as the warm layer over their polo top. Coats/jackets can be worn over the fleece/hoodie as an extra layer outside only.
Lunch Orders
Lunch orders are available from Wednesday to Friday every week. All orders can now be placed or cancelled via Kindo before 9am.
Wednesday - Subway - Kindo ezlunch (filled rolls amd wraps)
Thursday - Pizza Hut - Kindo shop (fresh cheese pizza on a regular or gluten free base)
Friday - Lyxe Sushi - Kindo ezlunch (sushi, dumplings, rice dishes, steamed buns)
