School Community Gathering

Amesbury families are invited to join together on Friday, 13th February, from 4:00pm to 5:30 pm on the main school field for an afternoon of connection, laughter, and shared experiences.

School will supply pizza and a sausage sizzle but you are most welcome to bring along your favourite family kai (food) to share with your loved ones as you enjoy a picnic on the field.

This is a great opportunity for the entire Amesbury community to get to meet new friends or to get to know others better.

Emergency Reunification Drill

On Thursday 26 March we are running an emergency drill at school. The purpose is to ensure that our systems are in place and operating properly in the event of a real emergency.

This drill will focus on communicating with parents/caregivers by text at 2pm and have you all come and pick up your tamariki. If you - as parents or caregivers - are unable to pick up your child/ren you can have someone else do it for you. Please note that only those parents/caregivers/ emergency contacts on HERO will be able to pick up your child/ren.

Please:

  1. Read Jenny's Emergency Reunification Drill article.

  2. Add the event to your calendar.

  3. Check HERO to ensure that all of these details are up to date.

Cricket - Sign Up Now

From the beginning of 2026 we will be adding cricket to our list of co-curricular lessons.

We have partnered with the Sri Lankan Sports Club (SLSC) to bring this popular opportunity to our tamariki.

If you are simply wanting to try cricket or wanting to improve your game SLSC has you covered!

All of our co-curricular lessons - including cricket - will begin in Week 3 (commencing 9 February) so please register as soon as possible. If you want to sign up your tamariki or ask a question simply email John (communications@amesbury.school.nz).

Co-curricular Lessons - Starting Week 3

All students who are continuing with their co-curricular lessons in Term 1 will secure their places by paying their invoices which you will already have received. If you wish to add or change lessons please contact John as soon as possible.

If you know nothing about the lessons please read the Co-curricular Lessons article and also our webpage. Please email John (communications@amesbury.school.nz) if you have any questions or you wish to sign your child up. It really is as easy as that.

Touch Rugby - Registrations close Sunday 8 February

If your tamariki are interested in playing touch rugby this term for a school team please read the info in Touch Rugby Notice and fill in a registration. Don't dally because registrations close on Sunday 8 February. Coaches are also required if you are in a position to help out.
