This Friday (6 March) teachers will be participating in Professional Development on the new Maths Curriculum resulting in school being closed for the day.

Year 6 Parent and Whānau Focus Meeting

A reminder to all of our Year 6 parents that Urs is holding a focus meeting for you on Tuesday (10 March) from 5-6pm. Urs has already emailed you all of the details for the session.

Free Co-curricular "Taster" Sessions - Registrations Close Thursday

Parents in Koru (main group) and Pōhutukawa have been sent a HERO post offering free "Taster" sessions for co-curricular activities. If you are interested in your tamariki trying out the lessons on offer please complete the form that is attached to the HERO post.

Please note that our co-curricular "Taster" sessions (and normal weekly lessons) cater for the complete beginner to those who are advanced, so we are providing an opportunity to see if tamariki are interested before they commit to regular lessons.

"Taster" sign ups close on Thursday 5 March.

Garden to Table Awards

Our inaugural Garden to Table Badge Awards has started.

Urs has provided greater detail as to what ākonga are planning to do, and what activities they can do at home. Please Read here to find out more about the programme.

Movin' March 2026 - Starts this Week

March is coming up so it's time to get organised for this year's "Movin March".

Things will operate a little differently this year, however, the focus still remains on "walk, scooter, bike, or wheel" to school throughout March. Apart from the health and environmental benefits, spot prizes are also up for grabs.

Sports Opportunities for Year 5 & 6 Students

Non-stop Cricket, Football and Kī-o-rahi - if your Year 5 or 6 child is interested in representing Amesbury in any of these sports, please read this information.

Please note that Registrations for non-stop cricket close on Wednesday (4 March).

Koru Hub Swimming Term 2

Hannah has been organising swimming for Koru Hub in Term 2. Please read the details that she has provided. Having done that please complete the EasySwim Registration Form by Sunday 15 March.

Term 1 Disco - Volunteers Needed

This term's disco is set for Friday 20 March.

Kirat has provided everything that you need to know right here.

Kirat has advised that she needs more volunteers to ensure that tamariki have an awesome time at the disco. If you can help out please complete this volunteers' form.

Scholastic Book Club

2026 Issue 1 of the Scholastic Book Club is now available.

Have a read through Kirat's info and place your orders which close on Friday 13 March to take advantage of free freight to school. After this date delivery will be made directly to you but a freight charge will apply.

Pedal Ready - Catch ups this Week

Pedal Ready, for our Year 5 & 6 tamariki will conclude this coming week with catch up sessions for those postponed due the weather last week.

In his article, Brydon has set out all the info you need, including how the programme works and a link to show you which day(s) your tamariki will be taking part.

Most importantly, please ensure that your child brings their bike and helmet to school on the day(s) they are scheduled to participate.

Children's University 2026

Registrations are now open for Year 5s & 6s to participate in Children's University in 2026.

Registrations, using this form, close on Sunday 15 March. In the meantime if you have any questions please contact Kirat.

Lunch orders are now available 3 days a week through Kindo:

  • Thursday is still  pizza day (select shops)

  • Wednesday and Friday orders (select ezLunch - formerly Lunchonline) for the Nada Bakery and Luxe Sushi menus

Junior Rugby League

Registrations are now open for the upcoming rugby league season with Hunters Rugby League Club. We offer grades from under 6s through to under 16s.
