Co-curricular Classes in Term 4
If your tamariki are interested in taking one or more co-curricular lessons for Term 4 please sign up without delay as lessons begin this week for the term. Spaces are still available in all lessons, although some spaces are limited.
We have a wide range of activities which cater for all levels - Years 1-6 and beginner to accomplished. (Note: Choir is only available for Year 3-6 ākonga (students).

Senior Athletics at Newtown Park - Thursday
Our Year 4-6 ākonga (students) will be participating in the senior athletics meet this Thursday (9 October) commencing around 10am.
Please send your tamariki with plenty of food, drink and appropriate clothing for a long day in variable weather conditions.
We encourage whānau to also come along and offer their support. Of course, if you are coming Rachel can also use your assistance in running the events. If you are able to can you please contact Rachel - rachelhosnell@amesbury.school.nz.

Touch Rugby - Term 4 - Registrations close Friday
Touch Rugby is on again in Term 4 and we are looking for registrations - both girls & boys - in all grades. See here for all the details.
The focus is on is on fundamentals, participation and fun.
As always, we need a coach with each team, so if you are available, please include your information in the registration form.
If your child(ren) is/are interested please register here. Registrations will close at 4pm on the 10th of October.

Cost | $210 (Please note, funding is available for this league so get in contact if your school requires support with this and we can make it free to participate in).

Years 5-8 Primary School Futsal League | Thursdays
Thursday 16 October - Thursday 20 November.

Junior Futsal League | Sundays
Runs for 6 weeks | Sundays | 9:00am - 2:00pm
19 October - 30 November (No Games 26 October)
Mixed and Girls only leagues in each age group: Under 7's, Under 9's, Under 11's, Under 13's.

Measles cases in Aotearoa
The following is a Bulletin issued by the Secretary for Education:
Recent measles cases linked to overseas travel have been reported in Te Tai Tokerau and Queenstown. Cases were active in the community while infectious and there is a risk of measles circulating there, and more widely in Aotearoa. Points to note by parents, caregivers and the school community:
Measles is very contagious and can make people of any age very sick.
Watch for measles symptoms – fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes and a blotchy rash.

If anyone in your whānau has measles symptoms keep them home and contact a doctor or Healthline urgently on 0800 611 116.
Vaccination is the best protection from measles. Check all whānau are immunised.

Anyone closely exposed to measles who has not received two MMR vaccinations cannot attend their school | kura for at least eight days.
