Student Conferences Term 3 2025
Next month we are holding Student Conferences. This is an opportunity for a 20 minute in-person opportunity for parents and caregivers, tamariki and kaiako (teachers) to discuss their child's progress, their learning levels and social development. Booking is essential - and first-in chooses their preferred time.
For more precise information concerning Student Conferences, including when they are being held and how to book please read this article which Urs has already sent out as a separate HERO post.
Koru Swimming Carnival - Tuesday
The Years 0-3 swimming carnival will be held at Tawa Pool on Tuesday (22nd July) starting at 10am.
We would love whānau to come along and support theirs and all the tamariki.
Please remember to send your Koru tamariki to school with all of the gear they need for the day - including food. For all the details please read the Koru Swimming Carnival article.
New World Clubcard Fundraising
We really appreciate the funding that we receive from Churton Park New World that enables us to provide extra opportunities for our tamariki. And the best part is that the funding comes from your normal shopping at Churton park New World. It costs you nothing apart from your time to fill in this quick form once only.
Read all about the wonderful things that we have been able to use this funding for and what the next round of funding will be used for - read here.
Amesbury Speech Competition 2025
The Amesbury Speech Competition is on again this term and registrations are now open.
Get preparing your item now to meet the following timetable:
Registration - closes Friday 8 August
Heats - Weeks 6 and 7 (18th - 29th of August)
Finals (Koru) - 2pm on Thursday 11 September
Finals (Pōhutukawa) - 2pm on Friday 12 September
For more details - including groupings and speech lengths - please read Hannah's Amesbury Speech Competition article.
Clothing backup - for ALL STUDENTS pleaseWith winter here, so is the rain, puddles and mud. Please pack a spare set of shorts/track pants/leggings, and underpants in the school bag (for all ages and sizes) with a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in, and let your child know that they are there for them to get changed into. For some children it can be embarrassing or upsetting when they unexpectedly become wet or dirty (particularly if there isn't anything for them to change into) or they don't like what is available. We do not hold many spare clothes so are not able to cater for all 'requests' and sizes (particularly over size 8). If there isn't anything for students to change into, we may need to call and ask for clothes to be brought to school.
