School Cross Country - This Tuesday

Just a reminder that the school cross country is happening on Tuesday with the first race scheduled at 11.10am.

Please ensure that your tamariki have suitable footwear and a change of clothes to change into afterwards. The race course may be wet and muddy so we ask for dry, clean clothes for afterwards.

For all the details including the order of events please read Rachel's information article.

Co-curricular Classes in Term 2 - Starting this week

Our lessons for Term 2 commence in Week 1, so please sign up before then if your tamariki are interested in trying something new.

We really appreciate the support that we receive from parents for our co-curricular programme. This enables us to:

  • provide opportunities for tamariki to try out new things, or to become more proficient, all in school time

  • receive additional funding for the school to provide extra activities for our tamariki

  • achieve this within school time - meaning that parents don't have to use out of school time to take their children to lessons; and

  • all at a lesser cost than enrolling tamariki in commercially provided lessons.

Read all about our co-curricular classes here, and contact John to sign up and with any questions that you may have.

Koru Swimming Lessons

Koru tamariki will have their on Thursdays starting in Week 2 (8 May).

For all of the vital information please read Lily's Koru Swimming Lessons article.

Contact information

Please help us keep your child(ren)'s information up to date.  If you have recently changed address or contact number, or would like to update emergency contacts, dietary or medical information please email office@amesbury.school.nz.

Advising of contagious illnesses

When informing the school office of an absence due to a student being unwell, please include additional information regarding conditions that are highly contagious.

This helps to track any trends, advise our school community to be on the lookout, and ensures immediate notification to the parents of students who have lowered immune systems due to the treatment of serious medical conditions. In particular, Chicken Pox and Measles can have serious implications, so the sooner families are informed of infectious exposure, the sooner any appropriate treatment can be given to prevent potentially serious complications.

Please read the this information regarding infectious conditions, and common rashes and skin infections.
