Get in quick! Futsal festival registrations open.

By: Brydon Gillam | Posted Friday July 31, 2026

We have been lucky enough to register four teams for the hugely popular Northern Zone's Futsal Festival this year. We will play at Ākau Tangi on Tuesday 8 September. This is a friendly competition so is best suited for non-competitive players and those new to the game.

We can take:

  • two teams of Year 3 & 4 students.

  • two teams of Year 5 & 6 students.

What parents need to do:

If your Year 3 - 6 student is interested in playing please register them here by Friday 7 August. It is incredibly popular so registering doesn't necessarily mean entry. Brydon will sort teams and let parents know. We will need parent help including transport on the day so please indicate this on the form if you can help.

Details for your diary.

Date: Tuesday 8 September. Time 10am - 2pm (TBC)

Location: Ākau Tangi Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie, Wgtn.

Travel: Parent transport needed.

Team make-up: There are two junior teams made up of Year 3 and 4 students. Games are four-a-side with a few substitutions so we can take approx. seven students per team. So seven Year 3 and seven Year 4 students.

There are two senior teams each made up of five Year 5 & 6 students. These games are five-a-side. So we can take approx. nine Year 5 and nine Year 6 students.

Teams need two girls on court at any given time.

What is Futsal? A fast paced indoor game derived from football played on a wooden floor with a small low-bounce ball.
