Our "Share & Celebrate" events are wonderful opportunities to shine a light on the hard work and achievements of our ākonga (students). We love recognizing such things as their acts of kindness, consistent effort in their learning, and their contributions to keeping our environment tidy, and things that reflect our Amesbury High five.
If your child has an achievement outside of school that you'd like to share, please email the details to their whānau teacher. We'd be happy to include it in our celebration.
A special shout-out goes to our student leaders, Bella, Ryan Y and Gabriella who organized and led this event. Well done, great leadership. Ka pai!
Adrik: Last week you were an amazing Tuakana and helped Koru student during morning tea. You showed lots of patience and kindness as you played and supported them.
Mikah: Thank you for being an amazing tidy kiwi in our hub. Coming in after P.E yesterday, you noticed that someone had left some toys out. Without prompts or question, you went and tidied them up straight away. Thank you for being a great Tidy Kiwi!
Manashyu: We are so proud of the patient way you’ve been helping another student in Koru Hub. You are showing the true spirit of a tuakana by supporting a teina and helping them feel included. Sometimes you hold their hand or show them the right words to use when they’re trying to say what they need. What an awesome role model you are.
Anant: Anant has been a great kaitiaki out in our community. He is picking up rubbish without being asked. It is lovely to see you showing this care for the environment. Tino pai!
Ryker: Ryker played in his first-ever rugby tournament/festival (year 3 tackle). His team, the Wolves, won all 4 games and he came away with his teams MVP Leadership Award.
Bailey, Annabel, Luca, Ethan, John, and Basti: These amazing ākonga attended the Interzone Cross Country event on Tuesday. It’s not easy to compete amongst the best runners across the zones so you all should be super proud of yourselves. Special congratulations to Annabel who placed 5th in her race, meaning she will move through to Regionals later this month.
Izzy and Viaan: Well done to both of you for showing great resilience on your bikes. While you were on the pump track and skills track on Thursday, it was wet and muddy, and very slippy. You both slipped off your bikes at different points, and both of you got back on your bikes straight away, still smiling. Well done for keeping on going when you are doing something tricky.
Skyreen: During our math workshops you have been super focused, determined and always have a positive attitude. Keep up the great mahi Skyreen!
Hayden L: In our literacy handwriting time, you have been making sure to form all your letters correctly and stay between the lines. Your kaiako have seen great progress. Ka rawe Hayden!
Mei Mei, Ella R, Kaia, Hayden S and Dishan: Well done to all of you on your fantastic work in writing this term. Our main focus has been language features and you have taken on the challenge of adding them into your writing. Amazing mahi to all of you!
Mahnoor: Thank you for stepping in at such short notice to do road patrol. As soon as you heard someone was needed when someone else was unavailable, you immediately went to help. We are so very impressed with your awesome attitude! You are always willingness to help and support others (and our community in this instance.)
Oliver: Over the last term, we have really noticed how you have become more focused in learning time and are really striving to do your best. This has been particularly evident in Maths and Writing. Well done Oliver!
Aaliyah: We are really proud of you for the hard work you have been doing, you have been working to use your writing checklist and putting a lot of effort into your maths. It is fantastic to see how proud you are of the work you have been doing and your enthusiasm for your learning. You even told Amelia how much you love maths check-ins! Keep up the great work Aaliyah!
Lennox and Basti: We are so proud of all of the mahi you two have been putting into your spelling workshops and your writing! You have both produced an amazing villain piece and should be so proud of yourselves ka pai!
Divij, Oleesha, Kevin, Viaan, and Zion: You guys are always cycling around, however, when it’s time to put the bikes away you are so helpful in rounding up all of the bikes from others and help to tidy up the shed at the end being super helpful kaitiaki. Ka rawe!
Evan: Last Friday you worked amazingly well alongside your buddy, helping them make their passion project. You were super helpful and made sure they got everything they needed to work on their project. Also, in Mandarin rotation this week you showed great focus on your task. Ka pai!
