Junior Invitational Cross Country

On Tuesday, Amesbury hosted 12 other schools at our annual junior cross country event.

We were very glad the rain stayed away and the sun ended up coming out.

The track was lined with supporters who cheered and congratulated the runners as they made their way around the track. A huge well done to everyone on their amazing efforts.

A big thank you to the parent volunteers who helped marshal our track throughout the races. Your help is greatly appreciated.

We were fortunate to enjoy a delicious sausage afterwards thanks to Gail and the parent volunteers. Ngā mihi to those who helped and delivered a very smooth sausage sizzle.

A special shoutout to our amazing Y6 leaders who helped guide the visiting students on the day. Their tasks included doing a guided walkthrough of the track, conducting warm ups and running ahead or behind of the athletes in the races. I received many positive comments in the feedback on how caring and welcoming you all were. Well done to Peyton, Miesha, Binuk, Annabel, Adam, Annie O and Emily.

Special congratulations to our Amesbury ākonga who represented our school so well on the day.

Y3: Taylor, Keira, Victoria, Mickey, Talia, Xavier, Harvey, Nivaan, Ian and Evaan.

Y2: Maeve, Ella, Camila, Emmy, Amaira, Luke, Sid, Ollie, Izzy and Emmett.

Y1: Bhavyaa, Liliana, Anvi, Eriola, Kian, Yool, Matthias, Freddie and Oscar.

Lastly to our staff and volunteers, thank you for your time. Your mahi ensured we had yet another successful cross country event.

Ngā mihi

Lily
