Huge congratulations to all of our chess players who participated in Monday's NZCF Wellington Region Tournament.
The event was hosted here at Amesbury School, and it went really well. We registered a whopping four teams - the most we have ever entered into a chess event, and our teams all did really well. We were incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves and our school.
Special well done to Team A of Andy, Hanson, Kishore, and Nilan, who won the overall event. Well done also to Kishore and Hanson, who were recognised as the highest scoring players in boards 2 and 3 respectively.
A team to represent Amesbury has now qualified for nationals later this year, hurrah! All the very best to the team for this event.
