Share & Celebrate Term 2 Week 3

By: Jenny King | Posted Friday May 16, 2025

Our Share & Celebrate events are a special opportunity to recognise ākonga (students) who have been noticed doing something great.
This might include acts of kindness, dedicated effort in their learning, or contributions to looking after the environment. We value and enjoy acknowledging these moments.

If your child has achieved something outside of school that you'd like to share, please feel free to email the details to their whānau teacher – we’d be delighted to include it.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to our student leaders, Tiffany, Angela and Won Won who organised and led the event. You presented with confidence and represented your peers with pride – ka pai!

  • Amana: Well done for being such a fabulous big brother to your sister, Lulu, during school cross country. You supported her so well afterwards, and she felt much better with you around.

  • Adam Z: thank you for always keeping our hub tidy. You pick up rubbish or mess that isn’t yours and show respect to our learning space. Ka pai Adam!

  • Juliani: Juliani you are a constant positive force in co-curricular ukulele classes. You are always wanting to help people, and are always so friendly. You are a fantastic role model to the younger kids, and embody the Amesbury values perfectly.

  • Vedant: In guitar class for this week, Vedant chose the hardest guitar part to play and tried his hardest with it even though it was a completely new skill. No one else was willing to take on the challenge, so ka pai Vedant for stepping up to it and challenging yourself!

  • Collin: In health you were the person to look and listen for the whole lesson. You showed great focus and respect towards kaiako and others in your group. Keep this up!

  • Kiaan: You have been an amazing role model in our whānau this week, being selfless cleaning up without me having to ask. You show great initiative and are always there to support others ka pai!

  • Ileesha: During Te Reo last week, you broke away from your friend group and practiced your Reo with a student that was sitting by themselves on the mat. It was heartwarming to see you be inclusive, kind and patient with members of our hub, Ileesha. You are a lovely friend!

  • Annabel: Congratulations! Over Easter Annabel  competed at the National Orienteering Championships in Canterbury region.  In the sprint event,  Annabel came 1st. In the Medium distance  event, she came 2nd.

    Well done Annabel!

  • Iza, Alex and Lashika: You three have all been working so hard in maths! Coming to every workshop with a can do attitude towards learning division and also supporting others in the group. Tino pai to you!

  • Queenieva: Well done on submerging yourself into the culture of Amesbury. We are impressed with your creepy stories you wrote about Wednesday Adams and the Wolf's Den. It is clear you are a curious learner as you are always asking questions about how to extend your learning and clarifying what the subjects ask of you to do.

  • Daniel: Earlier this week before school you noticed one of your classmates was feeling upset, you went up to them and made sure they were okay. Thank you for keeping an eye out and being a bucket filler!

  • Victoria, Sedna, Kailey: We want to acknowledge the girls for their hard work this term. Every day, they are making good choices and quietly doing the right thing. They are always the first inside after break time, ready to learn. They are amazing mat masters and always show respect to others. Ka rawe, koutou!

  • Eliza: You are an amazing role model to everyone around you. You consistently show your kindness by including others, listening to others and following the instructions. Well done Eliza.

  • Northern Zone Cross Country kids: All of these amazing ākonga attended Northern Zones Cross Country on Tuesday. They all came with such positive attitudes and gave it their all.
