St Brigid's Kapa Haka Festival

Stepping out in front of a full audience takes courage, and our ākonga showed that as they performed on stage. With heads held high, they sang with passion and pride, their voices filling the hall. From the haka to the poi, the performance reflected the richness of our culture, strength, beauty, and unity. It was a powerful reminder of the wairua and depth that Kapa Haka carries.

Behind this performance was the tireless dedication of our tutor, Hemi Prime. His guidance and preparation was evident in every action, every note, and every step our ākonga took on stage. We are truly grateful for his leadership and the way he has nurtured our ākonga to perform with such confidence and mana.

We also give our thanks to our kaiako and whānau for the support you gave both in the lead-up to the festival and on the day. From organising and encouraging to dressing and cheering, your awhi meant so much.

This performance was more than just an item on stage; it was a celebration of identity, culture, and kotahitanga.

Here are some of the pictures that were taken on the day.
