Nilan: Nilan has been selected to represent New Zealand at the Under 7s World Chess Championship in Spain in a few weeks’ time. We are so proud of you and your amazing achievement. All the very best for the championship, Nilan, we will all be cheering for you!
Meera B: Super work learning how to draw a cube, Meera. You knew what you needed to do, but it kept ending up as a cuboid. You just kept trying and trying, and in the end you used your measuring skills to create a fabulous cube! Well done for not giving up, even when it was hard.
Andy: Andy, the bike shed looks AMAZING! You used a lot of your own time to sort and tidy it without anyone asking you to. Everything is lined up neatly or hanging on the shed wall. It is so easy to find things. Thank you so much.
Killy: We are super proud of your hard work in literacy, Killy. Even when things are tricky you keep trying, and show an amazing growth mindset. Tino pai!
Arkaine: You have set a goal of signing in every morning and I am so proud seeing you follow through that goal everyday! Ka pai for being persistent and taking the effort to follow through with your goal.
Aiden: Thank you for being such a great leader today! You finished your own math task and then you took the time to support your peers with helpful clues, ka pai!
Emmett, Nilan, Zeyaan, Harper, Leo, Meera, Sam, and Millee: You all have been consistently working really hard to form your letters neatly during handwriting time. Your neat handwriting shows how much mahi you’ve all put in. Ka pai tō koutou mahi!
Emmy: Well done on your perseverance in your poi learning for Kapa Haka. You have learnt how to do it by practising. Well done with your effort in this.
Benny: It was awesome to hear how much work you have been doing on your inquiry project. You spent many hours researching and writing down facts at home to share with your group. Tino Pai Benny!
Dilan: Dilan you have worked very hard on your inquiry experiment and tasks even when your buddy was not at school. Your teachers on the floor were very impressed with your perseverance.
Olivia, Taylor, and Charlie: Congratulations for giving it all and representing Amesbury School at the Northern Zones swimming competition this week. Well done!
Makayla and Hashem: We would love to celebrate you both being phenomenal first responders. You have shown initiative to gently calm your peers when they are not feeling so well. You are the kind of leaders students think of when they want a safe person to go to or to help. Ka rawe e hoa.
Juliani: Showing mana during your learning time and outside your learning time. You are showing your strength in scientific thinking and you are always keen to show your strength in kapa haka actions and kanikani (dance moves) like the macarena! You are such a lively student in our school, we love your energy!
JoJo: You have been put on the spot for a lot of your learning in inquiry and literacy and you have been showing you can meet our high expectations.
Mark: You have shown that you are enthusiastic to learn during literacy. Coming to a new country and not knowing the language is a very brave thing to do. We want to celebrate how everyday you have tried your best and are always giving things a go. From writing, reading to making friends and interacting with your classmates. We are proud of you for learning the two languages we use here at Amesbury (English and Te reo Māori). Ka rawe!
Killy and Astrid: You have shown us how keen you are during pāngarau learning time. You are diligent students who have shown great effort and enjoyment, especially during our math workshops - He tino pai tō mahi Killy and Astrid!
Boston: Boston, you have come a long way since starting at Amesbury not long ago. You have paid attention during literacy time and your handwriting is looking beautiful! Mīharo Boston!
Kaia: You have gone above and beyond in helping tidy up the class. During pack up time, you are the first one to start tidying up and will keep tidying until it is all done. Thank you so much for keeping our spaces tidy. Ka pai Kaia!
