Welcome to the New Term! 🎉
We love kicking off the term by celebrating the great mahi, leadership, and kindness across our kura! From the hubs to the playground, our ākonga continue to make us proud. We have lots to celebrate.
A massive thank you to Hannah and Kate’s buddy whānau group for being fantastic hosts this week.

Annie, Alicia, Kalla, Ariana, and Siena: You have all been such an amazing support system for our new student. You have made her feel so welcome and looked after in and out of learning time. Ka pai koutou!
Nixon: One morning before school a koru ākonga hurt themselves while they were getting out of the car. You went straight over to them and offered to walk them in. You helped make what was a pretty rough start to their day smoother by showing genuine manaakitanga.
Nixon, Dilan, Brandon, Hanz, Kyle, Vedant, Ashwath, Ethan B, Oscar, and Taksheel: Ngā mihi nui kia koutou for your kindness and inclusiveness. You showed great maturity, and kindness when you adapted your football game to enable a new student to join in, to have a turn, and to feel like they were part of the game. Ka Rawe!
Emmy J: Well done for trying your best in the lane swimming at the swimming carnival on Tuesday. We know you were nervous to try it, but you gave it your best shot. Ka pai!
Liliana, Freddie, Bhavyaa, Matthias, Kairi, and Truman: Well done for a great start to literacy this term. Joining a new space with a new teacher can be tricky, but you have done a great job adjusting to the new group. Ka pai koutou.
Connor: Connor the kaiako are noticing your effort to be an awesome mat master and tidy teddy. We appreciate the work you have been putting in!
Matty R: Well done, you have been wonderful with your reading. You are taking your time to sound out the words and not rushing. You are then able to answer lots more questions about the book.
Carolina, Kayden, and Astrid: Well done on your sounds and sight words. You are saying them confidently and using your sound knowledge to work out simple words. Keep it up.
Neysa: Well done Neysa on persevering on your division and multiplication. It is tricky but you keep on trying. Keep up the great mahi.
Ethan N: Sometimes mornings are really hard for you, and it can be difficult to start your day. But every single time, you find your way through those big feelings. You take some time, settle in, and then you get on with your day, joining in with learning and showing everyone what you are capable of. We are very proud of you.
Archie: Ka rawe at swimming, waiting for others to go in and off safely first, tino pai on showing kindness when you are thoughtful towards others.
Ryan R: You showed enthusiasm at the Swimming Carnival, good on you for showing confidence, having a go and having fun.
Boston and Tim: Tino pai on showing resilience and growth in the morning when you come to school. It has been a big change, and it has been lovely to see your confidence grow.
Joseph: We love how you are taking charge of your own learning by trying to write by yourself before asking for help. Ka Pai for the effort.
Reyan: We are noticing how you consistently work hard during learning time, taking the initiative to help your teachers and peers. Ka Rawe Reyan.
Sid and Riley: It is awesome to see all the hard work you both are putting into our inquiry lessons. You two often provide insightful observations and we love listening to your explanations. Ka Rawe Sid and Riley!
Harper, Oscar, Bryan, and Joseph: We have noticed the effort you boys have been making with spelling words using our focus sounds during handwriting. You have been consistently putting in effort and spelling the words without help. Tino pai!
Keyan, Jaiorn and Nihaam: Well done, to you all for trying your best during literacy time. It’s great to see you practicing what you have been learning and applying your knowledge of phonics to a variety of activities.
Hana, Elliot and Neysa: Thanks for creating a positive learning space during literacy. It’s great to see you smile each day and help out as best as you can to make the classroom a welcome place.
Annabel: A huge congratulations to Annabel who came second in her grade at the interzones cross country race in June. This means that she qualified for the inter-regional competitions to be held in Nelson soon. Good luck Annabel!
Niharika and Saarah: You jumped at the chance to help with our new sports trolley taking the ‘first shift’ in looking after the equipment. You tried hard to get everyone returning and respecting the equipment. Well done!
Daniel, Aaliyah and Andy: Thank you for doing a wonderful job supporting our new ākonga. You have shown kindness and support to them and made them feel welcome.
