Share and Celebrate Term 4 Week 4

By: Jenny King | Posted Friday October 31, 2025

We are always looking for opportunities to celebrate how our ākonga achieve our Amesbury High Five values. Whether it's the kindness they show their classmates, the effort they put into a challenging project or activity, or helping to keep our community tidy, we enjoy celebrating their success!

Please email the details directly to your child's whānau teacher if you have something you would like us to include in Share & Celebrate.

A huge shout-out to our student leaders, Shiloh and Cassidy for volunteering to organize and lead this today. Ka pai! Congratulations to all of our students listed below.

Izzy P: Ka pai, well done Izzy, for making a choice to do the right thing last week. You helped another student through the sensible and kind choice you made, and you showed yourself to be a good friend. You should feel very proud of yourself.

James, Surya, and Divij: Thank you for showing such kindness to a younger Koru student who fell off his bike on the bike track. You were kind and helpful, whether any adults were there or not.

William: We are so impressed with your increasing "can-do" attitude in literacy, particularly during handwriting. Seeing you tackle difficult tasks with such perseverance makes us incredibly proud. Ka pai tō mahi!

Bilge: You’re consistently making great choices such as trying your best in practising your handwriting and phonics to support your own learning. Plus, your fantastic initiative is showing in other areas too—like keeping the classroom tidy and demonstrating you know where you need to be and when. Keep it up!

Neysa: We are impressed to see you taking the extra effort, such as reading a book by yourself every day after practising handwriting, decoding words all by yourself before approaching a teacher for help. Keep up the mahi, Neysa.

Nixon: Thank you fortaking our new student in and making sure they are included in group work. During a fitness break it was also really awesome to see you cheering this student on as he finished a whānau relay race.

Ben F: We are so pleased with how you are settling into our kura and our whānau super well. You are already pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and it's really awesome to see you engaging so well with others in our whānau.

James, Keone and Logan: Boys, you took it on yourselves to do a huge clean up of the upstairs kitchen after we used it to do some writing. You even got on your hands and knees to scrub pastel off the floors. Thank you for showing ownership of our spaces.

Logan: Well done Logan on your amazing summary of ‘When the red man came”. You really showed that you understood the story even though it was difficult. You were able to condense your knowledge into a really good summary. Great job.

Ana: We have seen you show a growth mindset in Maths and show resilience when working on problems. We have been really happy to see you working hard and doing your best!

George: We are so impressed with your Te Reo Māori skills! It has been amazing seeing you pick up te reo so quickly and practice it with your peers. Ka pai George!

Kairi: Kairi, we have noticed that you have been a diligent learner and role model in the hub. You always make sure to complete your task, to listen to the teachers during mat time and are always willing to help the kaiako. Ka rawe Kairi!

Eliza, Emmy J, Daniel, and Inaya: We have been working super hard on our reading this term and this group has been speeding through reading their books and learning new sounds. Ka pai koutou for your dedication and hard work!

Skyreen: Skyreen, your focus and hard work during last week's independent maths workshops was excellent to see you stayed focused and completed all your set tasks. Ka pai tō mahi!

Riaan: You have been working super hard in your maths workshops to solve multiplication and division problems. Keep up the great work!

Emy G: We noticed your perseverance when learning a new skill in PE this week.  It wasn’t easy, but you kept trying. Ka mau te wehi.

Arya S and Kailey: It was so cool to work alongside you in the ‘Garden To Table’ lesson this week.  You started off unsure, as there was a lot of dirt and bugs to navigate while we planted the seedlings.  However, you got stuck in and ended up enjoying the experience.

Reyan: Reyan, every day in literacy you bring such a bright, positive energy! Your bubbly smile, willingness to help others, and the care you take in setting up and tidying our workshop make a real difference in our learning space. Ngā mihi — thank you for all that you do!

Benji: You should be very proud of the progress you have made with your writing. You have been working hard to stay on task and complete your daily writing. We have noticed your perseverance, ka pai Benji!

Riley: You have been working super hard on your writing this term. We have noticed your commitment to completing the daily task and making sure you are sitting next to a good learning buddy to stay focused. Tino pai Riley!

Caleb and Freddie: It has been wonderful to see you both working hard with your spelling so far this term. Keep up the great work.

John T: We have noticed John working really hard in the afternoons. He is making a conscious effort to show his awesome mat manners, and is being a great leader for the younger students in our space. Ka rawe, John!

Saanvi: You should be really proud of your hard work in maths. You are a great leader in our rōpū, you quietly model the right thing to do. You also show an amazing dedication to your learning and persevere when things get tricky. Well done Saanvi!
